Bathurst Goldfields 2015

The students in Year 5 visited the Bathurst goldfields to experience life in the 1850's and try their luck at panning for gold.
It was an early start, leaving school at 7 am. Our first stop was Echo point at Katoomba to have recess and see the Three sisters. Then it was on to Bathurst. We did a lap of the race track and arrived at the gold fields.
The students did a variety of activities including: going into a mine, viewing mining and rock crushing tools, operating a windlass, watching a blacksmith at work, panning for gold, and making damper and mud bricks.
It was a long day but it was an awesome excursion!!!
